Biography
Adriaan Geuze studied at the AgriculturalUniversity of Wageningen, where he received his baccalaureate in landscapearchitecture. Just there, a department of landscape design was organized some50 years ago for the first time in the Netherlands. Togetherwith his colleagues in 1987, he founded a company called «West 8» specializingin urban design and landscape architecture. A. Geuze and his «West 8» have become widely known at an international level thanks to their unique approachto planning and design of the public use zones. In 1992 Geuze founded the SLA(Surrealist landscape architecture) Foundation, the event that caused asubstantial interest of general public towards architecture per se.

West8 Urban Design & Landscape Architectureis based in Rotterdam, the capitalof the Kingdom of the Netherlands,where the Company was founded 20 years ago. At present, four partners are at thehead of the Company: Adriaan Geuze, Edzo Bindels, Martin Biewenga and Jerryvan Eyck. Adriaan Geuze is its director. The Studio is a recognized leader inlandscape design as well as in urban development in Europe.
