Ten foreign and three Russian architects will take part in the contest, including one student from the MARCHI Institute.
The following are the principle terms and objectives of the contest:
- A country house, as a permanent habitation for a family with 2 children in a moderate-climate zone of Russia.
- The target objective: minimal cost with optimal proportion of cost/comfort.
- Floor area of no more than 120 sq. m. The unit construction cost of no more than 30,000 RR per sq. m.
- Environmental friendliness, energy effectiveness and maximal autonomy in terms of utility networks are obligatory.
- Making use of local construction materials. In the absence of Russian innovational technologies, foreign technologies are permitted for use.
The contest results will be summed up on February 1, 2010.
The contest is an integrated part of another large-scale design event: - "Star Village"
